1. WHAT IS NALSAR PROXIMATE EDUCATION?
NALSAR (National Academy of Legal Education and Research) University's outreach
programs are conducted through NALSAR Proximate Education. NALSAR PRO conducts
various Post Graduate Diploma Programmers for Legal Fraternity and other
professionals. The courses are non-residential and are similar to
Correspondence Courses and Distance Education Programmers. The Proximate
Education concept uses Web as an important tool to interact with students. All
enrolled candidates are given a user ID and Password to access the Website
www.nalsarpro.org and interact with the faculty and also access various
materials posted on the web. Apart from this contact classes are conducted at
different cities in India allowing them to interact fact to face with subject
experts. The exams are also conducted at various cities to facilitate the
working professionals.
2. Is NALSAR University a recognized University or a deemed University?
NALSAR University was established by a statute of the State Government of
Andhra Pradesh in 1998. The Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh is the President of
the University. The University is headed by a Vice-Chancellor, advised by
Executive council, General Council and Administrative Council which has members
drawn from Supreme Court, State High Court judges, Law Secretary, Bar Council
members of the State and the Centre and eminent Academicians. The University is
a full-fledged University recognized by the Bar Council of India to award
degrees. The University offers B.A., B.L. (Hons.) Degree programmes, M.L.
Programmes and Research Programmes - M.Phil. and PhD programmes.
3. What is the eligibility criteria for the courses ?
All the Post Graduate Diploma programmes require a qualification of a three-
year degree or an equivalent. The Degree could be in Law or in any other
field.
4. What are the job opportunities of the courses?
The courses offered by NALSAR Pro have opportunities in different fields. For
practicing Lawyers it enhances the subject knowledge and expertise. Apart from
these the diploma course will help in careers of teaching, Intellectual
property careers, Consultancy, Non-Governmental organization and also in career
promotion within the organization.
5. Does NALSAR Pro organize placements?
NALSAR Pro disseminates career opportunities in its website for the enrolled
candidates. It also provides the information of candidates when approached by
the organizations. Though no formal placement programme is in place, NALSAR Pro
helps in placement on basis of need and requirements.
6. Can one do Two Diploma programmes in the same academic Year?
The Exams of the diploma programmes are conducted simultaneously in various
centers and hence a candidate enrolled for two programmes cannot take exams.
Apart from that the University policy does not permit a candidate to take two
diploma programmes simultaneously.
7. What are centers for contact classes and examination?
About the centres
Patents Law-The contact
seminar classes and examinations will be held at the proximate Centres
-Hyderabad, Banglore, Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Ahmedabad and Chennai
Cyber Laws-The contact seminar
classes will be held at the proximate Centres -Hyderabad, Banglore,
Mumbai, Delhi. However the examinations can also be taken from other centres
-Pune, Ahmedabad and Chennai.
Media Laws-The contact seminar
classes will be held only at Hyderabad.However the examinations can
also be taken from other centres -Banglore, Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Ahmedabad and
Chennai.
International Humanitrian Laws-
There are no contact classes for this course. The written examinations
will be conducted within India at Hyderabad,Delhi and at selected
Countries with ICRC Delegations.
Note: The candidates applying
can choose the first and second center in the application form, in case where
minimum enrolement is less than 25 in a centre of your first choice, the second
choice will be allotted. The University reserves the right to cancel any of the
above centres and the candidates will be informed about the same
prior to the admission.
8. Can the Course fee be paid in Installment?
As a policy the University does not permit installments. In few deserving cases
of financial difficulties of income and other criteria, the candidate can
request for a deferred payment and such requests will be considered on
case-to-case basis and the University reserves the right to decide on them.
9. When does the course begin?
The Academic year starts from April. The first round of Contact classes
will be held around july and second round of contact seminar classes will
be held around October-November.
However the exact schedule of Contact classes
be announced in the website as well as by e-mail to he enrolled candidates
three weeks in advance.
10. What is the duration of the Contact Classes and when it will be conducted?
The contact classes for each course is held twice during the course period for
two to three days depending on the coverage of the syllabi. The Classes are
normally held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The candidates will be intimated
about the classes three weeks in advance.
11. What materials are provided for the course?
The candidates will receive 1) printed course materials 2) CD-Rom of the
materials 3) Presentation materials to be discussed in Contact classes and 4)
materials uploaded in Website.
